I purchased the boat new from Stan at the old Lake Union site in 1985, after trying a number of singles from a number of manufacturers. It was love at first row - fit like a glove - and I've never looked at another single since. At one regatta it was weighed, and they couldn't believe a *wood* boat was under legal weight; checked the scales with a Van Dusen, and yup, scales were accurate ;-) Rowed and raced regularly from the day I bought it, although rowing it a bit less the past few years as I've been playing more with kayaks. Never the less, this is the boat ingrained in my soul. -Traci Cole
